Hellomagazine.com, the online extension to HELLO! magazine, is launching a brand new feature which allows users to view a short video clip, as well as reading about their favourite celebrity. Produced in conjunction with thebiographychannel.co.uk, clips are featured in the profile section on hellomagazine.com.
The mini video clips appear under the main photo of the celebrity and rotate every month. The biographychannel.co.uk supply the video images, and rotation is due to the change in programme schedule on The Biography Channel.
In return for the video clip, hellomagazine.com states the time (GMT) and date of the full programme on The Biography Channel for each respective celebrity.
Tree Elven, Website Editor, said: "We actually trailed video way back in 2001, but people were not ready for it. Download times simply were too slow. Now, with the advent of broadband, people are used to watching TV and video over the Internet. We feel that the mini video clips are an excellent addition to the site, adding extra value to our celebrity-hungry readers, and personally I feel it's come at the right time."
Emily Lloyd, Head of New Media, The Biography Channel said: ""We are thrilled to be able enhance the hellomagazine.com site, and at the same time provide clear signposts to The Biography Channel where hellomaagzine.com readers can watch full biographies on their favourite celebrities. It really is a win – win situation."
