Double H Ranch Donors Receive Artistic Photograph Donated by Mark Andrew
The Double H Ranch, founded by actor Paul Newman to help critically ill children, recently conducted a major fundraising campaign. Artistic photographer Mark Andrew was quick to respond.
[ClickPress, Sat Jul 29 2006] There is no cost to the critically ill children who spend a week of summer camp at the Double H Ranch, thanks to the generous donations of so many concerned individuals.
When artistic photographer Mark Andrew learned of the latest campaign to raise over $10 million he contacted camp director Max Yurenda and offered to provide wonderful thank you gifts to the top 30 donors. Andrew presented Yurenda with framed artwork as his donation to help the cause.
"Sometimes it helps to encourage donors to give a little more when they can get a quality gift they can display for years to come. I hope my small effort helped to increase the donations they received," said Andrew.
The artistic photography of Mark Andrew is filled with energy, emotion, and expression that he creates by combining his many skills with insight, and a unique collaboration with his subjects.
Andrew has created a new web site at http://MarkAndrewImages.com.
The artistic merit of the images combined with the universal appeal of the subject matter makes an indelible impression on the viewer.
"The process of creating artistic images is multifaceted, and always a great joy. I almost always begin by talking with my subject in an informal collaboration," explained Andrew. "The bonding and rapport that develop between us heightens inspiration and creativity, bringing a uniqueness to every subject I photograph," he added.
There is no distinct style in the work by Andrew. His art is made up of many diverse styles of images that are as distinct as his many subjects.
"There is an emotional connection I try to express in every creation," Andrew explained. Viewers can feel that emotion in each image, which elevates his work from portraits to art.
Just as an artist who paints has the ability to be creative, Andrew extends his creativity to his studio where he makes full use of the software tools that are available to him.
"Artistic photography goes beyond just capturing existing light and image. Computers give us unlimited possibilities to take a photograph and turn it into an emotion-packed work of art," he explained.
Featured on his web site are selections from the Iroquois Exhibit at the National Museum of Dance.
"Mark has been able to elevate his work beyond documentary photography to a higher level of what can only be described as innovative fine art photography," said Beth Hartle, museum director.
