Breaking Down The Beats

The Infamous Mad Linx will take part in this year's International DJ Expo sponsored by DJ Times Magazine in Atlantic City, NJ. DJ Mad Linx, host of the top-rated Black Entertainment Television (BET) program "Rap City," will appear on the panel "The Music Biz: How Remixer/Producers Climb the Ladder " on Wednesday, August 23 at 5pm at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Mad Linx and the other panelists will examine the world of remixing at the annual conference, which attracts some of the country's top DJs.

In addition to the panel discussion, Mad Linx will get the opportunity to not just talk about his DJing skills, but to show them off. He will do a demonstration on Stanton Magnetics turntables in the Stanton Magnetics expo booth # 215 between 11am-3pm earlier that same day (Aug. 23).

"Being a DJ is a privilege that should never be taken for granted. We are messengers of the music. My mission is to take it back to the essence, where the DJ was the most prominent part of the Hip Hop puzzle. It was the DJ, not radio, not corporate figures far removed from the culture, it was the DJ that broke the music and made everyone crossover. I'm here to keep it that way," says Mad Linx. "I love to DJ! It's where I started and it has brought me to this point. There is no feeling in the world like rocking a crowd. When I perform, it's for real."
