THAI AFTERNOON TEA AT VTK!

CHICAGO (March 2005) –After the success of National Tea Month, VONG’S THAI KITCHEN™ (VTK), 6 West Hubbard, Chicago, is pleased to continue Thai Afternoon Tea! Every Saturday, beginning March 12, from 12 noon – 4:30 p.m., guests are invited to relax and experience afternoon tea with a Thai twist! Offering sumptuous Mighty Leaf Tea™, VTK pays homage to this time-honored beverage known for its intrinsic comfort value.

Honoring the tradition of Tea as a staple in Thailand, VTK invites guests to enjoy several varieties of Mighty Leaf Tea™ paired with Thai finger-foods. Priced at $13 per person to share a pot of tea ($15 per person for an individual pot of tea), guests will receive soup, savory satays and sandwiches, sweets and their own choice of Tea. In addition to a few of the flavors such as Green Tea Tropical, Vanilla Bean, Mint Melange and Chamomile Citrus, VTK will offer its feature blend, Orchid Oolong.

To begin the afternoon, each guest will receive Gingered Butternut Squash Soup followed by Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich, Peking Duck Roll, Shrimp Satay and Portobella Satay. To satisfy your sweet tooth, VTK offers Pistachio Caramel, Spiced Apple Cheesecake, Fresh Fruit Kabob, Cardamom and Banana Muffin, Orange Coconut Cookie and Spicy Gingersnap. Any additional savories or sweets will be $1 per piece.

VTK, 6 West Hubbard, is open seven days a week. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. VTK offers two private dining rooms: the main private dining room, which can accommodate parties of up to 40 guests; and a second private lounge, which can accommodate parties of up to 18 guests.
