Radio Station For Cats Celebrates 9 Year Anniversary

Cat Galaxy, the internet radio station for cats will be celebrating it's 9 year anniversary this week and every show that airs will have purrfectly good fun and music. Based in Phoenix, Arizona the station began broadcasting on April 21, 2001 to an all feline audience and is the first of its kind on the entire planet. Not only is the station designed for cats to listen to and enjoy, it's also managed by them as well. Since it started 9 years ago Cat Galaxy has won a broadcasting award, received high praise from kitty listeners and has had almost 5 million visitors to the station's web site. The station has also produced internet TV shows for cats including its latest feature, The Street Cats Of Phoenix.

"No doubt our station is original as we are the only radio station that caters to cats. We're quite proud of that fact and for many years to come we will continue to direct our broadcasts towards them." said Nohl Rosen of Cat Galaxy.

Cat Galaxy was started after Rosen decided to listen to his cat Isis who let her human know that cats do indeed enjoy music and that humans aren't the only ones capable of running a radio station. Isis is both a co-owner of the station and it's manager.

"Isis has been a great manager and she's been present for every broadcast that we've had. Icarus has also been present as well and is often there to introduce himself to our on-air guests," Rosen added.

Icarus is also the station's assistant manager and responsible for much of Cat Galaxy's programming. Recently, Cat Galaxy added a new Facebook page for listeners to log onto and also is testing out a new webcam which will once again allow visitors to the radio station's web site a chance to view a live broadcast. The cam has been dubbed Isiscam by the station's staff.
