SPEEDO SUPPORTS DUO IN STRAIT OF GIBRALTAR CHALLENGE

LEADING swimwear brand Speedo has shown its support for one of swimmings more extreme challenges by donating swimwear to two brave ladies who are attempting the gruelling 22 kilometre swim across the Strait of Gibraltar, the entry point into the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean.

Alix Robertson and Camilla Howard will take to the sea from 13 to 19 September in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Beat which is a charity aimed at beating eating disorders.

The challenge will see the ladies attempt to complete the swim against strong currents, as well as water temperatures as low as 15Ëš. They will also have to contend with inquisitive dolphins and possibly whales or sharks.

The pair are already training hard for the swim and are grateful to Speedo for helping them to be able to undertake the challenge. They have a specially designed training programme in place and are hoping that, along with having the best gear, this will get them through the challenge.
