Prague’s world famous annual stamp, coin and ephemera fair is moving to the new Prague Exhibition Centre for the 2010 fair, to be held between 2 and 4 September. The move will delight exhibitors and visitors alike due to the new venue’s ultra-modern facilities and extra space.
Collector is one of the largest stamp, coin, postcard, collectable gem and ephemera fairs in Europe, attracting over 200 dealers from 40 countries and tens of thousands of collectors searching for rarities and bargains as well as having their collections valued for free by experts.
Complimentary tickets for the show are being offered in international collectors’ magazines, or can be purchased at 80 CZK for the day or 150 CZK for the full three days, with women and those under 19 admitted free. The new venue boasts 4500 parking spaces and is easily accessible from downtown Prague by public transport. However, according to DirectRooms.com there are fewer Prague hotels nearby than in the city centre.
Visitors to Prague during September are being encouraged by the online booking service DirectRooms.com to arrange their accommodation early to avoid disappointment, as more than 12,000 collectors are expected together with experts, valuers and those hosting exhibitions of philately and numismaty.
According to Lek Boonlert, DirectRooms.com’s online marketing director, "Major events of this type consistently draw large numbers of enthusiasts, and often cause a shortage of suitable hotel accommodation for other visitors to the events’ host cities."
