Strandkorb & Meer expands business beyond German frontieres

Strandkorb & Meer, a leading retailer located in Munich, Germany has continuously grown their business with roofed wicker beach chairs and expanded their sales to the USA, UK and Australia for about six years now. 2010 Strandkorb & Meer expects to reach a 20% share for the international sales of their traditional German "Strandkoerbe".

Strandkorb & Meer as one of the leading retailers for these comfortable loungers ("Strandkoerbe") built by the most respected and well established manufacturers in Germany has received a lot of requests for information about this traditional furniture since 2004. Many questions came up about the option to purchase one and get it shipped to the door of the buyer.

Consequently owner Corina Pries had most of the German webpages translated into English in March 2006. At the end of 2010 the English version will be updated again, "and then include the most recent offers that German customers already enjoyed in the running season" explains Christoph Gold from CGMS, who is managing the marketing and PR tasks for Strandkorb & Meer.

In the meantime Strandkorb & Meer has already taken their business to another level: starting as a national retailer for German customers the company has expanded the shipping of Strandkoerbe beyond German boundaries. So far the international business with roofed wicker beach chairs has rocketed from zero to nearly 20% of the total sales amount.
