The Bright House 2010 Clearwater Super Boat National Championship Festival has teamed up with Downtown Clearwater’s Blast Friday (formerly known as Downtown Clearwater’s 4th Friday) to make the event bigger, faster, louder by providing non-stop family friendly activities on the 400 block of Downtown Clearwater’s Cleveland Street on Friday, October 1st beginning at 5:30 p.m. Bright House Networks’ Blast Friday presents the St. Petersburg Times Super Boat Block Party to kick off the three day event.
Planned activities include:
• Super Boats on display – as well as other "super" vehicles including drag racers and super cars
• Opportunities to meet and get the autographs of the Super Boat drivers and racing teams
• Photo opportunity to get your picture taken inside a Super Boat.
• Junior Poker Run for children with prizes sponsored by the Bay Star Restaurant Group
• Performance from Clearwater’s Suite Caroline - who recently became the second person signed by the William Morris Agency without a previous recording contract
• Vegas-style tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons from musical group Let’s Hang On
• Performance from a surprise musical guest star
• Appearance from Bubba the Love Sponge in which he will give out prizes to guests in attendance
• Street performers
• Loads of food and libations
• And more!
"We are expecting record attendance for this amazing event on Cleveland Street," says Kevin Carlon, Executive Director of Blast Friday.
Last year, Super Boat brought an estimated 60,000-plus people to Clearwater, and made an estimated impact of $5-6 million on the local economy, without spending a penny of taxpayer’s money.
Passes for the VIP race experience are available for purchase for an adult admission price of $100 per person and $25 for children 16 and under through the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce.
