The first of its kind in the ferry sector, Stena Line’s new product and pricing structure will allow travellers to choose from three ticket types – Economy, Flexi and Premium - depending on their individual travel needs.

Following extensive consumer research travellers with Stena Line can now choose from the following selection of ticket types:

- Economy – offers the lowest fare, with no frills, amendments are charged and no refund is due if the booking is cancelled;

- Flexi – gives customers the flexibility they need with no amendment fee and more favourable cancellation rules;

- Premium* - optimum flexibility and supplementary services, such as access to the Stena Plus Lounge and express boarding and disembarkation.

Bookings can be made now for travel either through Stena Line direct Tel: 08705 70 70 70 or through local travel agents.

Travellers will also be able to book at 2006 prices for travel in 2007, following Stena Line’s recent move to freeze its prices. Fares start from as little as £50 for a car and driver, one way.

"The ferry industry has in the past been accused of having a complicated pricing structure and so our new structure aims to simplify this," said Paul Grant, Head of Travel Market Irish Sea, Stena Line.

"We have also taken a good deal of time to listen to our customers who have told us they want to have the choice about how flexible their ticket is and what their onboard experience will offer them. This increasing desire among travellers for flexibility and choice has been driven by the developments within the travel industry as a whole," he continued.

* Not available on Harwich – Hoek van Holland and Fleetwood – Larne routes.
