SOS Promotions have teamed up with Videoplugger to offer free-to-use footage of their annual open-air music extravaganza at Crystal Palace Park this weekend (30th & 31st July).
The VNR (Video News Release) is a broadcast quality asset which will contain excerpts from the live performances of thirteen of the capital's up-and-coming south of the Thames talent, such as Diesel-U-Music competition winners Shuffle, the electro mishmash that is Liberation Jumpsuit and the Afro-Japanese folk punk sounds of Kanako and the Numbskulls, as well as interviews with the bands and organisers.
"We're absolutely delighted to be working alongside Videoplugger on this exciting new initiative", said Carol Ann Walters, PRO for Sounds of the Suburbs: "As a not-for-profit group, resources are understandably limited, but this partnership will enable us to deliver broadcast quality festival footage at zero cost to broadcasters; all from one easy to use internet platform".
Videoplugger says the technology saves broadcasters time, as well as saving money for the public relations companies, which no longer need to send out conventional videocassettes.
SOS founder, Charlotte Fletcher added: "We hope London will make good use of this free-to-use resource and help our community celebrate the cream of South London unsigned bands and DJ's; our event is run as a not-for-profit, so expect a DIY ethic and bags of enthusiasm".
