On February 20th, the winning Delphian School students attended the award ceremony at the Benton County Historical Museum. Seventeen regional high-schools entered over 200 pieces of excellent work.
Delphian student, Sebastian Delaney, age 18, took highest honors with Best in Show (in two-dimensional work), First Place in mixed media and First Place in drawing/colored. Sebastian says, "My mom and artists Ralph Steadman and Quintin Blake are my biggest inspirations in art. It was a great experience being in the show."
Other Delphian School placings were Jin Yeub Choi, Third Place in drawing - black and white, William Oh, Third Place, drawing - color, Brandon Jones, Honorable Mention, drawing - black and white, Corrie Copper, Honorable Mention, painting - figural and Lauren Hollander, Honorable Mention, painting - landscape.
Rachel Kirby, show organizer from Philomath High School said, "The Delphian School students certainly did well. It was a fantastic show!"
The Delphian School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering college preparatory, English-as-a-Second-Language and summer programs for elementary through high school students. The Delphian School is licensed to use Applied Scholastics educational services.
