About Walden's Puddle: Walden’s Puddle was created in 1989 by Vicky Carder. She was a volunteer at a wildlife rehab center and when the rehab was discontinued at the center, Vicky began rehabilitating wildlife at her home in the Berry Hill community of Nashville. In 1991, Walden’s Puddle became a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization and became dependent exclusively on individual donations. They are the only professionally staffed wildlife rehabilitation and education facility in middle Tennessee with admissions reaching over 1,700 animals last year. They provide care to sick, injured and orphaned native Tennessee wildlife and provide educational experiences to the community, allowing for a greater understanding and appreciation of wildlife.
