Eliat is where the desert meets the sea and Eliat has for 5 years now hosted some of the greatest musicians around the world, playing music and giving workshops and master classes. The Eliat Chamber Music Festival was initiated by Leonid Rosenberg who is still the artistic and general director of the festival.
This year’s festival will host some of the world’s greatest performing musicians including a range of young instrumentalists who are stars of some of Europe’s most important stages. Artists will include Pieter Wispelwey, ChloeHanslip, HagaiShaham, DejanLazic and many more. There will also be a performance from the celebrated soprano Anna La Fontaine.
Orchestra’s performing include the Gabrieli Consort & Players, the Jerusalem Quartet, iPalpiti, Maria Juncal Ensemble and many others.
For the first time this year the festival will collaborate with the KeshetEilon Music Centre, a centre that nurtures the talent of a group of young violinists from Israel and further afield. The KeshetEilon 2011 Spring Seminar will be held as part of the Eilat Festival.
Attendees that stay in an Eilat hotel will be treated to the hospitality this resort town is famous for. Not only will the performers and their audience enjoy the delights of the festival, they will also appreciate the time spent in a town that is one of the top resort destinations in Israel.
