This years National Asian Wedding Exhibition will officially launch on March 26th at Birmingham’s NEC hall 8. The two day event will once again see Midlands host the country’s longest established Asian Wedding show (Eleven years) which will represent the ever changing multi-cultural society we live in! This years show will stress the importance of being a British Asian bride or groom and will not only feature a fabulous display of subcontinent fashion but also an array of British Asian designers and organisations that offer a more modern day themed Asian wedding lifestyle while still keeping its traditional feel, all under one roof!
For the first time ever, the exhibition has conducted an Asian wedding survey via the shows web site, www.awe2005.com - which is now published on the site. The survey is the largest of its kind and is probably the most comprehensive research ever conducted into Asian weddings with such questions as: do you believe in mixed caste/race or religious marriages, is there a need for the dowry in British Asian society and should you co-habit with your partner before marriage?
If you saw the film Bride & Prejudice and thought it was colourful then don’t miss the fashion catwalk where you’ll experience an abundance of glamour, colour, music and drama, which gives you all the ingredients of a Bollywood blockbuster movie. As well as your very own invitation to experience a live Bollywood style wedding! Starring an international cast of models and dancers some of whom are being flown in from the Asian subcontinent as well as Europe. The catwalk’s creator, internationally acclaimed make-up artist & stylist, Zaynab Mirza says: "If you are intrigued by Bollywood then be sure to get a front row view at this spectacular event."
This years event sees over one hundred exhibitors attending, who cover all aspects of an Asian wedding including fashion, jewellery, catering, beauticians, florists, photographers and many more, all in one arena. The main catwalk will stage the largest Asian wedding fashion display held outside the subcontinent and along with the Brit/Asian content this promises to be the most up-to date colourful wedding show to be seen this year and not to be missed by those who wish to discover the wedding trends for 2005.

Yogesh Kanani, the creator of the show says: "This year we aim to include more of the British Asian wedding scene and its place in our modern day society. Not only is the Asian community keeping it traditional high standards and wedding values but it’s also adapting modern British wedding lifestyles into its way of celebrating its marital events. The show as a whole is a celebration of all things colourful, traditional and modern and we hope that not only members of the Asian community come along on the two days but also other people of all different backgrounds will attend and find something creative, which may enhance their wedding in anyway shape or form."
