The Half Marathon is a 3.1-mile course through the city streets, beginning at Headrow and finishing at Millennium Square.
Runners from age 17 upwards can take part, with 5,000 places available. Registration will be on a first come-first served basis.
Fees for entry are £20 for affiliated runners and £22 for unaffiliated runners and includes drink stations along the course, t-shirts, goodie bags, a medal and chip timing.
The first male and female runner to complete the course will receive a prize of £500 each. The winning male and female from the Leeds Local Authority Area will receive £200 each. The marathon begins at 9.30am.
There is also a Junior Run that covers a section of the main marathon route and is open to children between the ages of nine and 14. A Mini Run is a shorter section of the route for children from three to eight years of age.
The official charity for this year’s event is Yorkshire Cancer Research, with the funds raised going to help Yorkshire cancer sufferers beat the disease, and supporting research and diagnosis in the Yorkshire region.
Participants who stay at cheap Leeds Airport hotels will be ideally placed to enjoy the GDF SUEZ Leeds Half Marathon 2011 in a great English city.
