Dubai Ethics Resource Centre (DERC) honours The Kanoo Group

Dubai, September 25, 2005: Dubai Ethics Resource Centre (DERC) honoured The Kanoo Group for their commitment to the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at a ceremony held on Wednesday. Mr. Munther Hilal, General Manager of Business Development for The Kanoo Group, accepted the trophy on behalf of the company from H.E. Dr. Anwar Gargash, DCCI Executive Board Member, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of DERC.
DERC also honoured students from the Dubai Women's College, Zayed University, and University of Wollongong, Dubai Campus, who took part in their summer's internship programme and the companies who hosted them.

The Kanoo Group was among the three companies to support The Summer 2005 internship programme, where the participating students spent two weeks at the DERC offices, followed by one-week residencies, studying these companies on their corporate social responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Munther Hilal said, “We are proud to receive this honour. The Kanoo Group believes that support and investment in education and the environment definitely generates sustainable resources and improves the goodwill of the company as per its century old heritage. Kanoo strongly believes in building brand reputation through Corporate Social Responsibility.�
