SITS completes integration into Tribal Technology

From 1st October 2005, SITS will change its name to Tribal Technology and will be re-branded as Tribal Technology. It will retain its Hessle and Stirling-based offices and its complement of over 70 staff. The new identity for SITS is the final stage of its merger into the Tribal Technology portfolio, and follows the successful implementation of the SITS product suite of student and course management software and services to its prestigious UK higher education customers. The SITS business, acquired by Tribal Technology in October 2004 for a total consideration of £14m, has been established for over 15 years and currently has more than 115 customers within the UK higher education and Scottish further education markets.

Chief Executive of Tribal Technology, Jim Chambers, explains, "This is the final stage in a successful 12 month programme to integrate the SITS business, without compromising product quality and customer service. This move signifies Tribal Technology’s commitment to the continued delivery of high quality products and services to its customers. The SITS customer base is highly complementary to other Tribal Technology brands, particularly our management information systems and education products, and extends our involvement into all areas of post-16 education. This is another step towards our longer term plan to become a £100m IT and information management division of the Tribal Group plc."

After 1st October 2005, Tribal Technology will maintain the product brand name SITS: Vision, the student and course administration system and e-Vision, a self-service web portal, which are currently used by over 60% of the UK HE market including; University of York, University of Bath, University College London and University of Warwick, along with a key number of Scottish FE sites including the UHI Millennium Institute.
