Holiday Centre Hosts Checkers Tournament during Ramadan

October 2005 – The Holiday Centre at Crowne Plaza welcomes the holy month of Ramadan by hosting a 3-day Checkers Challenge which will be participated by its visitors and frequent shoppers on October 20th from 10 AM until midnight at the shopping mall’s lobby.

The Checkers Challenge, an activity that Holiday Centre is having for the first time, features life-sized checkers board and pieces which the contestants will be carrying as they play the game. Since the main goal in playing checkers is to diagonally advance across the board in order to capture or block your opponent’s piece until it cannot move any further, the game will surely require a lot of interaction among the contestants. Players are guaranteed to have fun with the activity and even passersby will certainly have a good time by merely watching this engaging game.

The event is just one of the many activities that Holiday Centre has launched this year that is in line with its goal of establishing itself as a ‘premiere’ community mall in Dubai. The purpose of this event is to provide Dubai residents an opportunity to visit the Holiday Centre not only to shop and relax, but also to have fun during the holy month of Ramadan.

For 3 consecutive days, there will be one daily winner who will receive a Dhs 500 gift voucher from Damas Jewellery . These winners will be entitled to a raffle at the end of the tournament, where another Dhs 500 gift voucher from Damas will be given away.

Application for entry for the competition is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contestants aged 12 and above can register thru the mall’s Security Office located near the lobby.
