According to Minister Killeen, "I have been informed by my colleague, Batt O’Keeffe T.D., Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal and Developing Areas, that the funding will allow for the provision of 2 units of accommodation at Brookville, Lahinch Rd., Ennis and 6 units of accommodation at Green Hill, Cratloemoyle, Cratloe."
Minister Killeen confirmed that the funding has been allocated under the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government's Capital Assistance Scheme for voluntary housing projects.
He added, "EUR785,350 has been allocated for the housing project in Cratloe. The accommodation is being provided by Bawnmore Housing Association
Limited, in co-operation with Clare County Council and will be allocated to disabled persons. Meanwhile, EUR299,005 has been set aside for the housing project in Ennis where the accommodation is being provided by Banner Housing Association Limited, in co-operation with Clare County Council. Once again, the accommodation will be allocated to disabled persons."
"I would like to compliment Clare County Council and the respective Housing Associations for working together on these proposed Schemes, which will provide much needed units of accommodation for handicapped persons in Ennis and Cratloe", concluded Minister Killeen.
