Recently, Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, has spent a week clearing four 16-bedroom Victorian properties in Luton.
These properties had suffered at the hands of squatters. So the chartered surveyor firm, Jaggard Baker, called in Waste King to clear the properties, fumigate them and make them secure.
Jaggard Baker is a Beaconsfield-based firm of Chartered Surveyors offering a range of commercial property services to private and corporate investors, owner occupiers and tenants, as well as other professional organisations – both locally and nationwide.
Waste King director, Andy Cattigan, said: "This week-long project – one of many in which we’re involved – meant that our uniformed, Environment Agency-licensed staff collected and disposed of some 14.8 tonnes of waste.
"Of course, Waste King always guarantees to recycle at least 75 per cent of all the waste it collects. With this project on these properties in Luton, we were able to recycle some 91 per cent of all the waste we collected," he added.
"Not only does this drastically reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and potentially polluting the environment for future generations but it makes Waste King’s operation more efficient, ‘greener’ and more eco-friendly."
With Waste King experiencing increasing demand for its environmentally-friendly waste collection and related services, it has invested £30,000 in expanding its fleet of specially built waste trucks.
Waste King’s managing director, Glenn Currie, commented: "Increasing our vehicle fleet by two specialist trucks enables us to keep up – for the moment - with the growing demand from customers wanting to use the environmentally friendly route to rubbish collection.
"Our customers come from the domestic and commercial sectors," he continued. "They seem to be attracted to Waste King’s services because our staff take time to ensure that the maximum amount of waste can be recycled and that all the waste we collect is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
"Separating our customers’ waste means that we can maximise the amount of that waste that can be recycled – which can only be beneficial for the environment. In turn, this reduces the amount of our customers’ waste that goes to landfill.
"Separating the waste materials when we collect them makes it easier - and often cheaper – for us to dispose of these materials," he added. "Moreover, it means that customers can get accurate audits of their waste."
Waste King – now four years old – has developed a ‘material separation’ process that is highly efficient and, it believes, is cost-effective. In addition, it has built up contacts with a network of industry-leading commercial recycling facilities and transfer stations which re-use and recycle these waste materials.
