The Right One “Rights” a Wrong Done by a Boston Dating Service

Responding to a recent news report by News Center 5's Amalia Barreda that detailed the plight of two single women trying to join local dating service LunchDates and who were discriminated against due to their weight and age, Paul A. Falzone, CEO of The Right One and new online dating service eLove.com, is extending the pair a free membership to both his traditional and online dating services – pending the service’s standard background check.

"I find the actions of LunchDates appalling, to say the least. Everyone, regardless of size or age can find a partner. The Right One and eLove have a very diverse and expansive membership, and we do not step away from folks who do not look like Barbie or G.I. Joe," said Falzone.

Roberta Traynor, a personal chef who is 5’5" and 200 pounds was discriminated against by LunchDates because of her weight. Another woman, Helen Long, who is a personal trainer and has also completed an Ironman triathalon, was turned away by LunchDates for being older than 40.

"It’s not our job to judge beauty and age. Attraction is a matter of personal taste that has nothing to do with the idealized image deployed by Madison Avenue. You don’t have to look like a supermodel to be desirable to a potential mate. You don’t have to be one of the ‘beautiful people’ to be beautiful to someone," explained Falzone. "There is no universal look that sets every heart to fluttering. Chemistry is important, but personality is the catalyst. It is your true self that will need to shine through if a lasting relationship is possible. At The Right One and eLove.com, our matches are based upon compatibility, not superficial characteristics like weight or age."
