Competitive Landscape

In 2014, Johnson & Johnson Poland Sp zoo kept the leading position in contact lenses retail value sales. The share held by the company in 2014 was 38% of retail value sales of contact lenses. The company owes its success to its well-known brand, Acuvue, which is widely available in optical shops and online shops in Poland. Novartis Poland Sp zoo was the second leading company in 2014 with a 30% share in contact lenses retail value sales. The Dailies and Air Optix brands have brought the company the largest amount of sales.

Industry Prospects

Retail value sales of toric and multifocal contact lenses are expected to increase during the forecast period. The ageing of the Polish population, rising awareness among senior people about vision problems and their treatment, the availability of high-quality multifocal lenses in Poland and their active promotion will be the main drivers of multifocal lenses sales. Since good quality and comfortable toric contact lenses are comparatively new to Poland, sales have not reached saturation and will continue to develop both in volume and value terms.
