Large electronics players like Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Pioneer planned to sell their last units of stock in 2015, with sales projected to end in 2016. This would benefit some consumers as the last units carried very low prices. The gap left by plasma TVs in stores was rapidly filled by LED TVs, which were totally accepted by Mexican consumers. The growing presence of OLED TVs is expected to lower prices and increase sales among lower-income households.

LG Electronics México leads home video with a 22% share of retail volume sales in 2015, followed by Samsung Electronics México (15%) and Sony Electrónicos de México (14%). LCD TVs accounts for a 76% share of home video retail volume sales in 2015. Thus, the rankings were highly influenced by the performance of players in LCD TVs. Despite the long-standing presence of the leading players, other international competitors, such as Vizio, Speler, Haier Hisense, Vios, Atvio and Ekt, gained ground. This was mainly due to affordable prices, strong distribution and exhibition in stores.
