Multinational brands Nike and adidas led sales of sportswear in 2015, claiming value shares of 30% and 24% respectively. These two brands have traditionally been the most popular sportswear brands in Greece and the high consumer awareness of them is based on their reputations for high quality. Each of these brands invests considerable amounts in sponsorship deals and advertising campaigns as they regularly develop new products in order to ensure wide product variety and to maintain their leading positions in the category.
