Competitive Landscape
Despite losing ground, Procter & Gamble captured 18% of total value sales and retained the leadership in French surface care. Since 2013, the company embarked on a strategic reorientation into multi-purpose concentrated products which translated into the withdrawal of specific products such as bathroom, oven and kitchen cleaners and which caused its total sales from surface care excluding wipes to shrink by about 11% over the period 2013-2015. When excluding wipes, surface care leadership is held by Reckitt Benckiser (18% of value for surface care excluding wipes).
