Lithan (www.lithan.com), a Continuing Education and Training (CET) provider for Tech professionals, invests S$10 million to transform its business in alignment with the national SkillsFuture movement and the recently announced Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector transformation plan.
The transformation journey, which started 18 months ago, is now in its halfway mark with the launch of CLaaS. CLaaS, which stand for Competency Learning as a Service, is an on-demand learning and mentoring platform that support tech and digital skills acceleration via competency-based curriculum, work-integrated applied learning and blended learning delivery. It delivers non-invasive, online to offline blended learning to individuals and employers anytime anywhere over the cloud on demand.
"The digital revolution has redefined current jobs. According to a Mckinsey study in the US, 60% of the occupations could have more than 30% or more of their activities automated by technology. Technology skills are fast become core skills required for future jobs." said Mr. Leslie Loh, founder and CEO of Lithan.
"The higher education sector, with respective silos in academic, applied and vocational pathways, need better interoperability to develop multidisciplinary talents with ‘thinking’ and ‘making’ skills. We need to get learners out of the traditional classroom as it limits workplace exposure for acquiring work-ready skills. Learning will be lifelong as education and work are now intertwined. To be future ready, the world of higher education and adult learning need to be transformed. "Leslie Loh, expounds.
Lithan’s transformation include competency-based curriculum development, training management processes implementations, learning systems and infrastructure acquisition.
With the transformation, Lithan’s portfolio of learning programs now comprises of more than 40 qualifications that deliver high demand skills to support Systems Management, Software Engineering, Business IT, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation jobs. It has now evolved to become a "Total Talents and Learning" provider with complementary support services beyond just training that include skilled talents sourcing and workplace learning consulting to serve both the higher education and adult learning sectors.
