The 2018 Journals Association of India Conference Calls for the Growth of Technical Journals in Indi

The 2018 Journals Association of India Convention, where the academic and research community meets, connecting the Editors, Publishers and Researchers that help to fulfill the promise of Indian Technical Journals through Innovation, Research and enabling Next Generations of India, concluded at the Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Hosted by the Journals Association of India (JAI), the event drew many industry leaders, including 40Journal Editors, from different states of India.

This year’s Theme of "Journal Management with Advanced Tools and Techniques" provided opportunities for Professionals, Publishers to exchange new ideas and application experiences with one another with a view to establishing business and research collaborations and finding global partners for knowledge enhancement.
"Respect the Publishing standards that you have to be followed and honor Quality of the Research work" Chairman of Indian Citation Indexing, Dr. Prakash Chandra told delegates. Attendees also received a message from Join Secretary of University Grants Commission (UGC), Dr. Archana Thakur, that Government of India is committed to support Technical journals published from India.
Prof.Anil Mehra, President of Journals Association of India (JAI) emphasised on the promotion and advancement of Journals Publishers having a presence in India as well as protecting the common interest of members and professionals engaged in Global Publishing. He said, Just by way of access fees, Publication charges and Subscription charges, every day 50 crore rupees of valuable foreign exchange is crossing Indian Boarders, which can be well utilised if adequate support is provided to Indian journals.

K.V.A.Sridhar, Editor and Publisher of YuvaEngineers.comand sole participant from the Telugu States spoke on the Role of Independent Technical Journals and Accreditation Issues for Technical Journals with respect to State Governments. He Said, According to Media Accreditation Rules of Various State Governments, It is compulsory to have minimum of 50% Political News to get accreditation. Some states gave Exception to Sports Journals and Film Journals but not to Technical Journals. Journals Association of India resolved to create awareness and importance of Technical journals among the Information & public Relations Departments of various State and Central Governments.
