[ClickPress, Wed Feb 01 2006] An ambitious new website is aiming to raise one million pounds to give to The FA Schools of Excellence to help uncover England’s football stars of tomorrow.
With the World Cup just round the corner, MillionPoundFootballPage.com is a hive of activity as it launches its campaign to plough one million into grass roots football to help nurture the next generation of talent. The brains behind the site, Chris Dutton and Ben Williams are also actively seeking a high-profile endorsement to raise its popularity.
“We want the website to raise one million which we are giving directly to The FA so England can improve its youth system and ultimately the national side”, said Chris.
“A million is a lot of money and that amount will go a long way to helping work with kids who show genuine talent at an early age. Some people are calling us mad, but we are only mad about soccer and we’ll do everything we can to help our boys succeed on the pitch”.
Businesses and website owners can show their support to English Football by buying advertising on the website, in a similar fashion to Alex Tew’s MillionDollarHomePage. Companies can place logos or messages on the home page and visitors will be re-directed to their websites once they click on the relevant advertisement. It’s a simple, low cost method of attracting huge numbers of visitors to a website of their choice, whilst showing the support for the project and helping to raise the one million for English Football.
“We want businesses around the country to show their backing for our plan and help discover the next Wayne Rooney”, said co-founder Ben Williams. “It’s a simple, unique, low cost way to advertise and with the kind of media attention we expect, they can expect some excellent results”.
